I try to view the 1st image in the content of a joomla article as a thumbnail.
https://v2.clibre.eu/fr/logiciels-libres I see no image. I put in the settings of the module: Main Media Setup Image source= full article image I am under joomla 4.0.4 Any idea?
Sorry but its not working like that: Full article image / intro article image means the full article / intro image in the article's images and links tab, see attached screenshot.
i would say 50-50, i realy need to check - i know i've done some similar tests a few months ago based on your question here, but i had some new ideas maybe it could work... Because if it is "just" limitated to find the first image it might be not so stressfull for the server...
I will look into it but i have others project running that needs my attention first.
kind regards
Marco

Hi marco Little reminder. I imagine you are on other work, but I would like to have answers on my last 2 questions. In particular on the roadmap envisages this extension with the changes since joomla 4.x, 4.1?
Exposer is fully J4 (J4.1) compatible. Since today Beta Version 1.5.2 is available for Download in your Downloads Area here (its not available via Auto-Update because its Beta) - But in fact the only major change is the addition of the options to set "First Image in Introtext" / "First Image in article text" as image source. The fallback images remains the same but you can now select in first place the first content image from intro / fulltext.
It would be great if you could test the performance on your side with this option enabled in version 1.5.2.
Please make sure to create a backup before installing this beta - just for security reasons.
PS: i've been a bit lost here - what was your second question?
kind regards
Marco

I have installed the latest version. No more card displays. I sent an email with the access to the site. The other question was about jquery: https://nx-designs.ch/support/supportforum/posts/t70/jquery-problem
I have downloaded the latest version mod_nx_exposer_latest.zip Surprise, it seems to be a test version because I had no content left. I see that this file is much smaller! I switched on the site from production 1.5 to a version 1.65 (that you must have sent me because I see nothing on the site!) There is no possibility of seeing the images and in particular to solve my problem of taking the 1st image contained in an article. Is it possible? if yes where is the file? if not will it be possible in a next version?
There was indeed a bug in Version 1.6 but it was Grid / Tag Filter related. (this got fixed with version 1.6.1) - Yes Exposer is a lot smaller than the previous versions thanks to code optimizations / changes.
You received once a test version but wasn't it a version 1.5.x (2 or 4)? - when you had a version 1.6.x this could make some troubles yes but a manual download of the latest (1.6.1 since today) and manual install should solve the issue.
Your Request for the "first content image" was implemented with version 1.5.2 a while ago (successfully tested today again in version 1.6.1):
Can you please tell me in which scenario (config) you have the issues?
Ok it is really smaller but by installing it after downloading it, on each page with module, I had a test example I reinstalled the old version but I want to update via joomla. Where do I put the ID?
Thank you. Indeed I used to do a manual download. It works well but now I can't find our conversation about the little problems that prevented me from updating the production site.
1/ in the page v2.clibre.eu/en/logiciels-libres There are 2 images that do not appear in exposer but are visible on the article page of joomla. v2.clibre.eu/fr/logiciels-libres/qgis-systeme-d-information-geographique v2.clibre.eu/fr/logiciels-libres/openjump-systeme-d-information-geographique An idea of the problem?
2/ in the page v2.clibre.eu/en/infos-sur-le-libre How to have a correct thumbnail if a) no image on an article b) image too small => blur in exposer c) video in article v2.clibre.eu/fr/infos-sur-le-libre/si-c-est-gratuit-vous-etes-le-produit d) pdf in article v2.clibre.eu/fr/infos-sur-le-libre/souverainete-technologique
Btw. All Links shows a 404 - is this a known behavior?
The 2nd question:
a.) Set a general fallback image in Exposer Settings for such cases see media settings
b.) There is nothing to do against this if the image has a too low resolution - you need to replace such images if you want to use it (i could make a skip image option in a future release) But in fact you want to have THIS particular image so it should also been placed in an optimized version?
c.) There is no support for mixed content yet - I have some approaches in mind but at the moment its not possible to "mix it up" You can define if exposer should show the image by setup OR customfields of an article but there is no way currently to mix it up like this - the problem is "how should Exposer know what you want to have"?
d.) Same as c - in fact the only way to have this would be a custom field - But in fact it makes no sense to put a PDF has eyecatcher media in exposer - at least you want ot have the first page as image - if it so - you have to stripe this out and set it as article image or place it hidden in the article (based on your exposer settings)
kind regards

Hi Marco Thanks for your time. For the 2 urls, yes it must be related to the accent ! I did not understand which urls are in 404?? it is the test site, the production site does not have the "v2"
For the rest, ok I understand that these are special requests.
Maybe one day it would be interesting !? * detect the low resolution images or without image to put the image by default? * ditto for videos or others with another image?
I see no image. I put in the settings of the module:
Main Media Setup
I am under joomla 4.0.4
Any idea?
