View all books from one publisher

Hi
I am looking to solve a new need for a new site under joomla 4.3.1.
I have records of books (article joomla) and publishers (article joomla).
I have linked by a custom field the editor on the article (book).
I would now like to display on the page of the publisher all the books linked.

Would it be possible to use your module? custom field?
I imagine that this may require a new field that would make a request on the id of the article joomla (editor) to display at the bottom of this page, the list of articles joomla (books) that have stored in a field the ide of the corresponding editor?

This sounds like a task for Exposer's Dynamic Filter: https://manuals.nx-designs.com/docs/exposer/how-to-use/dynamic-filter

So yes if your structure is like the one mentioned in my example (manual) just install it and you are good to go.

The Trial Version is no longer available (nearly 2 years now) - it was not longer accurate and i had no benefit in producing it - there should no links pointing on that anymore.

Sorry for the late response, as I mentioned already in my response - the problem is that the field that holds the value is inside a subform field. Subform fields are not supported yet. To be honest i have an idea on how to archive this kind of feature but have not the time to implement it right now... So the only solution (currently) would be to move this field outside of the subform field and use it directly but as you pointed out this is not possible if i understood you correctly...

So unfortunately no, there is no way this will work with the dynamic feature currently.

You suggested I move the field. Which I did. It seems to be as you suggest, but I couldn't finish because I don't see what to put in the fields whose VALUE from this CF is the "Customfield (Article)".

OK i've now checked again and you where quite there!

I've changed the following things:

The Customfield "Editeur livre lié" is now available for articles of the category "Livres (fr-FR)"

Then ive simple edited the first article "Une agriculture du vivant" and selected "Editions Libre & Solidaire" (May this is not correct but just to show something to you)

Then i've changed the Category Filter in Exposer to "livres fr-FR" article category - because we want show articles of the category "livres" on the page of the editor. Next I've changed in Exposer the Filter as follows: "Container Key Field" ==> ITEM ID (the value that we search for in the field values) so we tell Exposer if its placed on an ARTICLE page "hey search the customfields value of the field (setted up below as Customfield(Article) in the fields" So exposer gives us all Articles of the category "livres" that has a customfield that holds as Value the ID of the current article.

So because i've set before in the article "Une agriculture du vivant" the customfield "Editeur livre lié" to "Editions Libre & Solidaire" this article holds now this article ID in this customfield value and Exposer shows it as expected.

I REALLY hope this is what you want to archive and that you now have a woring example :-)

All you need to do now is to select the Editors in the Livres articles on this customfield and make sure that this exposer instance is published on the required pages.

Ok great, this is the beginning of what I'm looking for
I'll improve it by adding the image, moving the module ...
I'm not sure I'll be done by tomorrow, but the main thing is that I'm making progress.
I've been working on this project for months now!

I'm thinking about it, and I'll be asking you what to do when an editor puts in dozens or even hundreds of books? pagination? coupling with jFilters?
When will you have finished your thesis? it's on joomla ;-) ?

About my thesis:

Its a thesis to archive a diploma as software developer here in switzerland "Application Developer". My thesis is a practical work, a client - server web application based on Javascript (NodeJS & VueJS). And yes partly I will bring this thing also to Joomla. The application is for managing a physical device pool for mobile devices and stuff but has also features to add "virtual" devices that are not physically available in the pool. There will be features to add weblinks & documents (manuals etc.) for each device. Additionally there are modules to manage (aka build) the device pool itself (each physical device has a location in the pool) and so the users are able to fast find where in the pool a certain device is placed. Another feature (that might be also available later as Joomla Extension) is the "GuideMe" Module - this module allows managers / administrators to create guides for devices. That makes it possible that a supporter (user) does not need to walk to the pool to check something on the devices. Managers can upload screenshots and create slides with information about steps to perform to either find a specific setting on a device or may shows step by step how to set a config. Ahm it's like those "simulations" you may already now from your local mobile phone operators where they show you step by step on their website how to setup internet on your mobile phone for example. >> Deadline is July 10 :-) and to be honest i've done 90% of the codebase and havent written ANY documentation at all atm... so... I need to go now ;-)

About the pagination / lots of items issue

Yeah indeed this is currently not "focused" - i had a general beta version i think it was 1.3 or something where i've tried to implement it i don't remember what the problem was but to be honest the whole codebase of exposer needs to be refactored to be more Joomla 4 friendly. The current queries to get the articles are way to complicated and has to be streamlined too. May after this refactoring the implementation of pagination would be possible. It's on my ToDo list for a while now.

About this ui bug

Ahm it's a bit weird - I've tested it on my teststation and it looks good this text is shown in the TAGS tab - but when i check your page its not there... Additionally i cannot Toggle Inline Help on your page... Something breaks the Joomla CSS or even better - it looks like you have a plugin installed that moves the inline help into a modal? its some data popover modal or may the ACF Field Previewer idk. Check your browser console there are a lot of errors about these...

Thanks for the details on the thesis. Great if there can be spinoffs for joomla. I understand that documentation is important.
On my side I managed to get the module working, I'm glad it works, but still plenty of problems or suggestions to make.
I'm creating as many topics as I need, but unless otherwise indicated, nothing urgent.
