List articles in current category or sub-pages

Greetings,

How do i list articles in current category only without selecting a specific category and/or only list sub-pages?
That way I can add module to all pages and it would create a grid automatically, basically a glorified sub-menu.

This is not yet possible, Exposer does not offer such a functionality - BUT it might be possible to integrate such a feature in the upcoming minor release.

So Exposer would then been placed on an article's site and shows all "related Articles" (Articles of the same Category as the current article). Or will it been placed on a Category Page?

I'm no programmer but a filter like ->this CatID comes to mind.

That should list all articles in the category of the currently viewed article.
(The module already has settings for category depth)

I'm not sure if ArticleLibrary would be the better choice.

This is the solution I'm looking for.
It's implemented in Joomla4.

He sets the module mode from normal to dynamic which causes pages from current category to be listed, no matter the category.

No longer do we have to create copies of the module for each category.

I really hope you can update the Exposure module to do just that or to have both options.

yep, i know - i've already wrote a similar feature for OrielPro Gallery. I am currently in the middle of exam preparations and my term paper. So unfortunately I can only develop an update for Exposer in a few weeks.

in fact its not that hard i‘m currently not at home and can’t guide you trough i‘ll write you tomorrow about the steps in detail. but it should be possible with an additional method that gets the current article item and returns its category id. then you only need to use this id in the getItems method in place of the selected ones from the module settings. all i side the helper php…

have a look at the back-end form for the article_category module if it helps.

Sorry for the long waiting. In the meantime i've created a new Beta Release (1.8.0) which includes dynamic article category mode. If placed inside a Joomla! Article and setted up the Dynamic Mode the Module checks for the current article's Category ID and uses it as filter for the Articles to load.

You can download this BETA Release from within your Downloadcenter here on nx-designs.

Please give me feedback on how it works i've done just a few quick tests for this release.

I installed it without first uninstalling the previous one and it seems to have updated just fine, carrying over my settings.

Thanks also for the default image. (I may have simply overlooked that if it was in the previous version)
